Welcome to St. Francis of Assisi in Lancaster, TX...
We are glad you have found us here and would like to invite you to join us any Saturday evening or Sunday for Mass. However, until then we encourage you to take a look around our site and get to know us and the ministries and programs we offer. If you have any questions or need assistance please do not hesitate to contact the Parish office.
A Note from Father Manny...
The parable about the rich man and Lazarus (Lk. 16: 19-31) this weekend reminds us of our Christian sensitivity and responsibility to our needy brothers and sisters who may be known or unknown to us. The parable does not condemn the rich man and there’s nothing wrong with becoming wealthy especially if we gain our riches through our hard work and determination to have sufficient in life. However, it was the insensitivity of the rich man to see the image of God in the person of the poor man named “Lazarus” that condemned him to hell.
The Christian principle is always “to love God with all our heart and to serve Him through our neighbors around.” As St. John writes “If a man says, I love God and hates his brother he is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen cannot love God whom they have not seen.” (I Jn. 4:20)
May our good Lord bless us always in His caring ways with the resources we need as we try our best to help and love one another. Amen.
Mark your calendars!
