A Note From Father Manny....
This Sunday is called as "LAETARE SUNDAY". "Laetare" is a Latin word which means "to rejoice". Therefore this Sunday is a day of rejoicing.
Are we supposed to rejoice in the middle of our Lenten season? Yes, we must rejoice! We look forward to the great solemnity of Easter that out of love for us sinners, Jesus journeyed with us not only assuming our human nature through his human birth but accepted with love the suffering He endured on the cross until death yet ended up victorious with His glorious Resurrection.
Jesus' sensitive touch to the man born blind in the gospel this weekend, which resulted to the healing of man's blindness, invites us all to open our eyes and hearts and be His instruments of His love for His People.
The suffering of others is an opportunity for us all to show care. We do not know, how much of our days remain to us. Therefore, we must try to make use of every opportunity to do good for God through our neighbors.
There is a song that says "We shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore or any kindness that we can show, to any human being, let us do it now, for we shall not pass this way again."
May God bless and open our senses to see the reality of God in the welfare of others. Amen.
