A Note from Father Manny...
We have just ended the Christmas season hoping that its spirit of sharing Jesus does not end.
We welcome and pray for our brothers on retreat this weekend through the instrumentality of the CRHP (Christ Renews His Parish). It is indeed the mission and role of the Church and all parishes to bring people closer to the Lord.
Like St. John the Baptist in the gospel this weekend who pointed out and acknowledged Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, let us also take our part, our role being Christians to become ambassadors of God’s love and mercy especially for those who lost their way and faith in God.
May St. John serve as our model in like that as we journey in this world we live, we don’t lose our religious conviction that God is the author of our lives and that He keeps the world moving for us.
Like St. John who reminded humble despite the fame and honor he merited from the people and his followers, that he was not the Christ but just paved the way for Him.
May we have this kind of humility where we are aware that we are just part of God’s creation and have our being because of Him. Like St. John, may we humbly acknowledge God’s great-ness over our earthly achievements, His holiness over our sinful-ness and unworthiness fully aware that He is our God and we are His people.
Yours in the Ministry,
